FAMILY AND FRIENDS CAVING TRIPS
Welcome to the 2023 Family and Friends Caving Trip! The caving trip will take place on July 24, 2023, starting at 4:30 pm and ending July 28, 2023, at 9:00 am.
This trip is for experienced cavers and provides the opportunity for cavers to bring family and friends who are not eligible to attend the Spring or Fall Girl Trips. This is a great opportunity to introduce caving to adults who are interested in becoming leaders. This trip is run similar to the Girl Trips but cavers can explore caves on their own or join groups of other cavers. Cavers are responsible for inexperienced cavers and complying with the caving procedures. Cavers may stay at Organ Cave Community Center either inside or set up tents or campers outside or find their own accommodations.
Transportation is not provided for this trip. Cavers must provide their own transportation or coordinate transportation with other cavers.
All cavers under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult caver who can cave.
Registration: The trip is open to experienced cavers and their family and friends. The trip is limited to 50 people. All payment and forms must be turned in before registration is confirmed.
Registration deadline is July 15, 2023, by 5:00 pm.
Borrowing gear - we have helmets, swamis and head lamps at Organ Cave Community Center. If you need to borrow other gear, contact Kami or Stephanie about getting gear from the Lending Library at A Place for Girls. All borrowed gear must be cleaned and returned by August 30th.
Trip Costs: $50 per caver
Cooks attend for free
What do registration costs cover? Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts on Friday and Saturday, breakfast on Sunday, lodging costs, shower costs, washing costs for equipment, replacement of equipment as needed, insurance for the trip, and minor administrative costs. Any remaining funds are used to sponsor Girl scholarships for Fall and Spring Trips.
